The Integra Psychoeducational Assessment Clinic

Dear Health Professionals, School Personnel and Community Partners:

Fall can be a time of great excitement and new beginnings for many children and parents. This, however, is not the case for all. Children with Learning Disabilities may have difficulty with school work, sitting and paying attention in class, completing tests and assignments, and relationships with teachers and other kids. This can impact on the way children feel about themselves, their thoughts and feelings about school, and their ability to achieve their goals.

Integra is committed to addressing the mental health needs of these children. As the only accredited children’s mental health centre in Canada dedicated to serving children with learning disabilities, we have a well-developed understanding of these children, and the types cognitive, processing and social-emotional challenges they experience.

Integra is best known for its high quality treatment and programming for children with Learning Disabilities and their families, including Camp Towhee, Mindfulness Martial Arts, and Walk a Mile. We are excited to announce that this fall we will be expanding our services to include psychoeducational assessments.

The Integra Psychoeducational Assessment Clinic will provide high quality, comprehensive assessment and consultation services that assist children and youth in discovering how they learn best and challenges that may hinder their success in areas such as school work or peer relations. Helping parents and teachers to understand a child’s strengths and needs and next steps to helping them succeed is our goal. As such, practical and individualized recommendations based on the child’s cognitive, processing, and academic strengths and needs accompany all reports.

The clinic will specialize in assessment and consultation for children, youth and young adults ages 6 to 25 in the following areas:

  • Learning Disabilities
  • Attentional Difficulties (i.e., ADHD)
  • Giftedness
  • Assessment of emotional, behavioural, or social difficulties

Assessment and consultation services will be provided on a reasonable fee-for-service basis. Comprehensive assessments will cost $2500 and consultation will be provided for $180/hour. ALL proceeds from the clinic will be put back into the high quality and innovative treatment, research, and community education work currently completed by Integra. We are now accepting referrals for assessment and consultation. All referral information and our brochure are available on our website.

Thank you for considering The Integra Psychoeducational Assessment Clinic for your clients and students. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Dr. Karen Milligan, C. Psych.
