Below is the schedule for our Spring 2010 Workshops. These workshops are designed for parents, family members, caregivers, community members and any other adults interested in supporting children and youth who have Learning Disabilities.
- The cost for each workshop is $10.
- All workshops will take place in Integra's boardroom on the first floor of the 25 Imperial St. address.
- All workshops will run from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
ADHD & Learning Disabilities

This Workshop is an overview of ADHD, exploring different sub-types and how they may interact with learning and social interaction. Suggestions on how to support kids who may have both ADHD & LDs will be discussed.
Bullying

In this workshop participants will examine the specific challenges children with LDs face around bullying, both face to face and on-line. The workshop will briefly cover prevention and intervention strategies for children who are bullied, as well as for those who bully.

Building on the Walk a Mile in my Shoes workshop, this presentation provides participants with an understanding of the nature of executive functioning and difficulties children with learning disabilities may have in regulating themselves. Suggestions on how to support kids with executive function difficulties will be discussed.
Adaptive Technology

This workshop will help make connections between a child’s learning needs and types of assistive devices and programs. Participants will also examine how to encourage children to use these accommodations, and when they may not be useful.
