Below is the schedule for our Fall 2014 Workshops. These
workshops are designed for parents, family members, caregivers,
community members and any other adults interested in supporting
children and youth who have Learning Disabilities.
- To register, please call Integra at 416-486-8055 or click here to register online by Survey Monkey or click here to register via email. Registration is essential as space is limited.
- The cost for each workshop is $15. Payment by cash or cheque at the door.
- The September 17 and October 1 workshops will be held on Wednesday evening at Integra (25 Imperial Street). The other worskhops will take place on Thursday evenings at the North Toronto Memorial Community Centre (200 Eglinton Avenue West)
- All workshops will run from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

This interactive workshop is designed to give participants an understanding of what it may feel like to have Learning Disabilities (LDs) by engaging in a series of activities. Through these exercises, participants will gain knowledge about current thinking in the field of LDs and a practical understanding of how they may affect mental health and everyday life at home and at school.
Accessing School Supports

This workshop will explore both informal and more formals ways of communicating with the school and focus on understanding the process of getting help within the classroom and the school system. Attention will also be paid to relationship development and team building.
Bullying and LDs

In this workshop participants will examine the specific challenges children with LDs face around bullying, both face to face and on-line. The workshop will briefly cover prevention and intervention strategies for children who are bullied, as well as for those who bully.
Disruptive Behaviours and LDs

ln this workshop, participants will gain a better understanding of disruptive behaviours such as defiance and oppositionality. We will explore what may be underlying these behaviours, factors that contribute to ongoing behaviours, when to be concerned, and approaches to intervention.
Understanding ADHD and LDs

This workshop will provide an overview of ADHD, exploring the different sub-types and how they may interact with learning and mental health. We will discuss the potential social, emotional and behavioural implications for children and adolescents, and suggestions on how to support kids who may have both ADHD and LDs.

This Walk a Mile in my Shoes workshop is designed to gain a better understanding of different types of memory ;verbal, visual, working memory) and the impact on everyday life for children and adolescents with LDs.
